NEW YEAR!

Happy New Year!  We had such a great Christmas!  It is so fun seeing the kids get so excited.  They got some pretty exciting gifts this year.   My older two got skis and they are so excited to use them.  Even though we had a great Christmas, I am so looking forward to the new year!  Getting back on track!  Christmas always throws me off.  Having the kids home and being off routine is so hard for me.  Especially in the winter when it is cold outside.  I am looking forward to getting back at it Jan 3!!  I am going to be doing a new program Les Mills PUMP!  I also want to get back to running.  I want to do the 5th 3rd 10K again this spring.  It was such a great feeling to complete that last year for the first time!

Looking forward to my challenge group that starts on Jan. 17th!

Summer!

Tomorrow is the first real day of summer vacation!  I don't know about you, but summer is hard for me to stay on track with working out.  Even though we are outside and more active because it is nice outside, I have a hard time fitting in my routine workouts!  Which is what I need to keep up on with all the extra summer eating and treats!  This summer I am going to do better!  Working on TurboFire right now and hoping to do some weights and keep up with my running too.
I love to do my workouts when the kids are at school (no interruptions), so having them home puts a kink in my plan.  They argue and get into things they aren't supposed to.  They may be grounded a lot this summer if they don't let me get my time in.  I am a better mommy when I do!
We also like to go for walks, bike rides and this year I got a SUP (Stand Up Paddle) board too.  Dave loves paddling in the morning and now I can join him!  Paddling is great for a core workout.  I got some boats for the kids to paddle in too so they can come out with us!
I am hoping for a great, healthy, full of fun summer!

My Kids!

So proud of my kids!  Maddy & Keegan have been watching Dave and I run, and so on their lunch recess they run in the Milage Club!  Maddy has run a total of 14 miles and Keegan has run a total of 17 miles!  It makes me so happy to see them participating in fitness!  Kids really need to learn fitness and exercise while they are young, because if they don't it is hard to get into a routine as an adult.  Exercise wasn't important for kids when we were young and now as an adult it is something I really have to work at!

They have done such a great job that they both received free entry into the 5th 3rd Junior race tonight!  They are going to do a 1 mile race and we are planning on doing it as a family.  I am even going to have my 4 yr old do it with us, if we can.  Maddy is so excited because she knows we are doing the 5th 3rd this Saturday and now she gets to do it too!

I will post pictures tomorrow!  So very proud of them!!

What's in your fridge??

Have you ever thought about where your food is placed in your fridge?  I have 2 boys that are constant snackers, so I changed the way my fridge was set up thanks to Chalene Johnson!  This was in her Healty Eats & Kitchen Makeover in her ChaLEAN Extreme series.  It has really helped with my boys.  Now they have healthy snacks right where they can find them!!

Just some of my bodybugg bands that I have made.  I would love to make one for you!  It takes those drab ugly bands to a fabulous fashion statement!

Getting Fit and healthy

Getting fit is a process, it doesn't happen over night!  That is something I have to tell myself everyday.  I don't know about you, but I expect things to happen over night when I decide to make a change.  The things is, we didn't get unhealthy overnight.  It was a progression of bad choices that got us here.  So to change things and hit a goal, it is going to be a progression also.  Start by making small changes in your eating habits or by adding 15-20 min. of exercise every day.  Or set a goal to do something new, like walking/running a race that you have to train for.  The little changes we make will add up over time to make big changes overall.

My new goal right now is that I am going to run my first 10K in May!  I am excited to challenge myself to do something new, and I have really enjoyed running.  I have worked myself up to 3-4 miles now and should be ready by race day!

What new goal can you set for yourself right now?  Need an accountability partner?  I would love to help.   You can email me at B2baubles2@gmail.com, find me on Facebook at www.facebook.com/lisamarieberg or on twitter @b2baubles.
